For nearly 30 years, Urban Impact has been growing as a resource to the North Side community, serving up to 2,400 students and their families each year. It’s more than just introducing a new sport, tutoring and mentoring, learning an instrument, and discovering what’s next after high school, it’s about building relationships and introducing the hope of the gospel – and thousands of young people have come to know and accept Christ through our programs over the years.
Consider becoming an Urban Impact Capacity Campaign partner by donating today. Your gift will help secure the next 30 years of North Side ministry!
CAPACITY CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW
Urban Impact’s capacity campaign launched in 2017 as a new facilities approach to accommodating our 60+ programs and Urban Missionary housing. Since then, much has been accomplished with more exciting plans on the horizon. The following additions were done on time and debt free:
- Acquired and renovated St. Matthew Lutheran Church – utilized for our Early Impact preschool program and space for other arts and workforce development programming.
- Acquired and renovated ten North Side homes – our program staff are required to live in this community among the families we serve. These homes offer staff a safe, affordable place to live and create community.
- Acquired a school and dormitory located on N. Charles St. – the dorm has been renovated for our Training Center and renovations will begin in 2026 on a commercial-grade kitchen to help combat food insecurity among our students. The school building received masonry, and security upgrades and currently serves as staff office space and continues to be the home of The Pittsburgh Project.
- Recently acquired a warehouse and auxiliary building adjacent to the N. Charles St. buildings – renovations will begin on these spaces in 2026 creating additional program space including a permanent home for our Construction Trades program.
