Chuck Gohn has been a faithful volunteer with Urban Impact’s Options Department, serving as an Options coach to guide and challenge high school students and alumni as they navigate the unique stages of life in which they find themselves. Not only does Chuck serve as an Options coach, but he also volunteers his expertise as a certified life coach to provide regular training to our Urban Impact staff and volunteers.

Chuck explains that coaching is “a relational and structured process that works to move people from where they are to where they want to be.” He says that a good coach offers very little advice, but rather asks questions to give their student an opportunity to draw from his/her own knowledge and experiences, and thus affirming that a student already possesses the tools they need to move forward in making and executing plans for their futures. We are so thankful for Chuck’s passion, wisdom, and for the ways he has helped us to refine our coaching methods as we launch our high school students.

“Helping students navigate their life choices and career options has provided me with a great opportunity to positively influence the lives of others. It has also allowed me to play a small part in furthering the mission of Urban Impact and God’s Kingdom. I highly encourage others to consider becoming an Options Coach!” – Chuck
