$250,000 Year-End Matching Grant

With grateful hearts, we have been blessed this year with a $250,000 year-end matching grant. Each new or additional dollar you give before year’s-end will be matched to support our goal.

    Pastor Ed and Tammy Glover move to the North Side of Pittsburgh on a street where four out of five homes were boarded up.

    Outreach basketball with pizza is launched and becomes the foundation for Urban Impact’s robust Athletics programming.

  • Vision


    Pastor Ed walked out of his home and his car is stolen for the third time. Questioning if he can really a difference in the community, God gave him the vision of impacting one person, one family, one block at a time.

  • Founded


    Urban Impact is founded by Pastor Ed to help address the profound challenges facing the urban setting of the North Side.

  • Camp


    Summer Day Camp is initiated to combat summer learning regression. Once just a classroom of students, we now serve 220+ students in two locations and employ 67 interns to run classes and activities.

    First full-time urban missionary, Becky Boll, joins the Urban Impact staff.

    Urban Impact consistently ministers to 500 kids of the North Side throughout the year.

    A children’s choir begins rehearsals in the Glover’s living room becoming the foundation of Urban Impact’s Performing Arts Academy.

    More than an event, ManUp becomes a movement in subsequent years to combat the effects of fatherlessness in Pittsburgh and Charlotte.

    An in-school partnership is formed with King Elementary school for staff and volunteers to provide literacy support to struggling students. The partnership grows to multiple schools and becomes the foundation of Urban Impact’s Education programming.
